- August 10-16 the day of celebrating the town's most prized source of livelihood-fishing.
- August 15-16 the Dinagat Festival happen.
Dinagat-Bakasi festival is a unique
reinvention of the Dinagat Festival. The exotic eel locally known as
"Bakasi"is peculiar and abundant in Cordova. The dance replicates the
gliding movement of the Bakasi. Dinagat takes its name from the Filipino
word ‘dagat.’ which means sea The festival celebrates the bounties of
the sea. It's aim is to promote awareness and respect for the marine
life, protection of the marine resources, and to inspire conservation
efforts from local, national, and international organizations. The Festival was founded last 2009 and its main purpose is to
showcase the livelihood and fishing culture of the Cordovanhons and
promote Cordova as a tourist destination. The annual Festival is
celebrated in time of the fiesta in honor of the town's Patron Saint.
Sr. San Roque. It is a thanksgiving to the sea for the abundance of it's
marine resources especially to the trademark and pride for Cordova, the
eel of Bakasi.
